A Taquan Air de Havilland Beaver crashed into mountains around Rudyerd Bay near Ketchikan Tuesday, July 24. The pilot and two couples who were cruise ship passengers died of their injuries. On June 20, 2007, the pilot of a wheel-equipped Cessna 206 crash landed onto Yukon Island in Kachemak Bay near Homer, Ak. All four occupants suffered serious injuries. Fast thinking by a L.A.B. Flying Service pilot saved him and his two passengers from serious injury or death on June 13, 2007.
