Tuesday, 9/11/07, the non-belted driver of a vehicle that crashed into the woods at mile 108 of the Seward Highway was found dead in his vehicle. The results of toxicology tests are pending. Last Wednesday around 5:00 a.m., a woman was nearly hit head-on by a drunk driver. A teenage driver caused a crash Monday, July 22nd. It was the second serious crash caused by a teenage driver in Anchorage in less than a week. The young driver was exiting a lot at 88th onto Lake Otis and struck the SUV driven by Sandra Hutson. Hutson was not belted, and died as a result of the crash which caused the SUV to roll 2.5 times. An Anchorage youth lost control of the four-wheeler he was operating at about mile 155 of the Glenn Highway. It slid onto the Glenn, and into the path of another vehicle. An Anchorage man died July 7, 2007, when the motorcycle he was driving, a Harley Davidson, crashed head-on into a motor home driven by an Arizona tourist. July 6, 2007, Anchorage Police pursued Chris Collins at high speed. Collins finally caused a crash that made him Anchorage's 14th traffic death in 2007.
